The orthopedics, physical therapy and sports medicine care team welcomes Brik Thompson, DPT, physical therapist, to Great Bend. Thompson joins the team in Great Bend from The University of Kansas Health System in Olathe.
Thompson earned his bachelor’s degree in health and human performance at Fort Hays State University and his Doctor of Physical Therapy at Rockhurst University in Kansas City. He then joined the physical therapy team at Olathe Health.
Following an athletic injury, Thompson had physical therapy and it led him to become interested in anatomy and the science of movement. This led him to his degree in physical therapy. He also has training in dry needling techniques.
“I enjoy building relationships with my patients and helping them improve their physical function,” Thompson says. “I use manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercises and pain education to help patients meet their goals and improve their overall quality of life.”
Thompson grew up in central Kansas and his wife, Karisa, is a native of Barton County, and they are excited to be closer to family. He enjoys hunting, fishing, watching sports and spending time with family and friends when he is not at work.
